Roy Lake is minutes from downtown Nisswa where there are gift shops, eateries, convenience stores, and other city facilities.

Brainerd is less than 20 miles south of the lake, where you will find many restaurants, shops, hotels, and attractions. It also provides the Essential Health Saint Joseph Hospital, Central Lakes College, and Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport.

Nearby, Nisswa Lake Park has a great walking trail for birdwatching, taking the dog out, or jogging. You can also easily access the Paul Bunyan State Trail, a paved path that runs for 120 miles. It is traveled by people on foot, bikes, scooters, and Segways.
