Lake Winona is in Winona, Minnesota, in the far southeast corner of the state near the Wisconsin state line. For a big-city trip, Rochester is under 60 miles away.

This lake is 55 miles away from Rochester International Airport and just a few miles away from Winona Health Hospital, making health and travel needs a breeze.

There are several stores right across the street from the lake, including Menards and Target. Residents can grab a local bite to eat at 929 Beer House and Grill or The Boat House Restaurant.

Life on the Water

Lake Winona is 308 acres in size, with a maximum depth of 38 feet. The lake contains just over five miles of shoreline.

It's so easy to enjoy life on the water at Lake Winona! This lake features a paved trail that goes around the shoreline and is excellent for biking and walking. Take part in fun activities on the water ranging from boating and fishing to swimming and watersports.

While fishing on the water, anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish, including black bullhead, bluegill, channel catfish, flathead catfish, sunfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, walleye, and yellow perch.

Finally, for outdoor recreation and scenic nature, check out Minnehaha Park. This is the oldest park in Minneapolis and boasts 193 acres, numerous scenic trails, limestone bluffs, a 53-foot waterfall, picnic pavilions, bike rentals, and an off-leash dog park.
