Turtle Lake, the large neighbor to Grass Lake, spans over 2,000 acres and features clear blue waters. While it is a popular location for watersports such as boating, water skiing, and fishing, it never feels overcrowded.

It is considered a premier smallmouth bass location, producing smallmouths weighing over five pounds. The lake hosts many well-known tournaments as well as local events.

Fun in the Snow

People from all over the country come to Itasca County for its variety of winter activities.

Home to so many great fishing lakes, it is called an “Ice Fisherman’s Paradise.” Snowmobiling is a popular activity on the ice, but there are many forested trails across the county.

Follow the yellow brick road to the Judy Garland Museum, where you can get a glimpse at the world’s largest Judy Garland and Wizard of Oz collection, including the world-famous ruby-red slippers from the movie.
