Movil Lake is an 853-acre lake located in Bemidji, Minnesota. It is under 15 miles from the downtown area.

The Bemidji Regional Airport is around 10 miles away, and the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center is 8.2 miles away. For international travel, the Hector International Airport is under 145 miles away.

On the Water Fun

Reports indicate that Movil is an excellent fishery! Big Turtle, Little Turtle, and Movil are all connected via small channels, meaning all of these lakes share each other’s excellent fisheries.

Movil reportedly offers over 20 species of fish to catch. The most populous are northern pike, walleye, panfish (including black crappie), largemouth bass, yellow perch, tullibee, redhorse/sucker, and bullhead.

Although Movil Lake is accessible by a channel via Big Turtle, there is no public access on the lake’s shores. So while visitors can access the lake, it is quieter and more laidback than its neighbor Big Turtle.

Movil Maze Recreation Area offers over eight miles of dual-use trails. Cross country skiing, hiking, mountain biking, running, horseback riding, and more are available to visitors.
