Minnie Lake is located between the cities of Outing and Emily, Minnesota. There are less than 10 homes on this lake, so it is a lightly developed slice of heaven! The city of Emily was named after its closest lake of the same name. It’s believed the lake’s name, and the other nearby lakes with feminine names, were named after wives or daughters of early pioneers. The nearest hospital, Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, is around 30 minutes south in Crosby, MN. The closest airport, Duluth International, is about 2 hours east in Duluth, MN.

Freshwater Fun

Minnie Lake is a great place for freshwater fishing! Fishing reports indicate that yellow bullhead and sunfish are the most populous species on the lake. There aren’t publicly available boat ramps on the lake, but there are spots to launch a canoe or kayak off of Sumac Drive.
