Lower Sakatah Lake connects to Sakatah Bay in Morristown Township, Minnesota. The lake is under 65 miles from Minneapolis.

A Diverse Lake Environment

Sakatah Lake and Lower Sakatah Lake are connected bodies of water by the passageway under the Leroy Avenue Bridge. Engulfed by a sea of pines, Lower Sakatah Lake is an oasis of 372 acres.

Between the upper and lower portions of the lake, there are over 1,000 acres of water. Boating, fishing, and swimming are regular activities on the lake.

Anglers can find walleye, northern pike, yellow perch, black crappie, and white bass.

Sakatah Lake State Park’s most popular trails are Sakatah Singing Hills and Explore the Big Woods. Along the way, you will have excellent bird-watching opportunities.

The park also schedules days strictly for deer hunting. Its campground includes full-service lots along with a bathroom and shower house.

The nearby town of Faribault features Faribault Aquatic Center, Faribault Golf & Country Club, Faribo West Mall, and the River Bend Nature Center.
