Lake Volney is in Montgomery Township, Lexington Township, Cordova Township, and Kilkenny Township, Minnesota. For a city trip, Minneapolis is around 60 miles away.

The Minneapolis−Saint Paul International Airport is around 55 miles away, and the Mayo Clinic Health System New Prague is under 15 miles away.

On the Water Fun

Spanning 268 acres and with a max depth of 67 feet, Lake Volney is the perfect place to kick back and relax.

Popular activities include boating, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, fishing, and taking in the views. Many homes have docks, but a public boat launch is on the southern side of the water.

Anglers can find black bullhead, bluegill, flathead catfish, green sunfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, pumpkinseed, walleye, yellow bullhead, yellow perch, and more.

Lake Volney Park is on the south side of the lake and features a sand play area, a sand volleyball court, picnic tables, and a grassy field.

Finally, for outdoor recreation and scenic nature, check out Minnehaha Park. This is the oldest park in Minneapolis and boasts 193 acres, numerous scenic trails, limestone bluffs, a 53-foot waterfall, picnic pavilions, bike rentals, and an off-leash dog park.
