Lake Hattie is located in the southwestern corner of Ponto Lake Township, Minnesota, and is also included in the Pine River Area. For a city trip, Brainerd is 40 miles away.

The town of Pine River consists of small-town establishments such as restaurants, markets, shops, and schools.

Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport and Essential Health Saint Joseph Hospital are approximately 40 miles south of the lake.

Hidden in Rich Pine Forests

Pine River is historically known as the “richest stand of timber in the Old Northwest.” Thousands of acres of white pines surrounded the town.

It was a popular trading post in the Northwoods, eventually becoming a depot on the Burlington-Northern Railroad until its closing in 1985.

Lake Hattie is almost completely surrounded by pines, making the perfect backdrop for sunrise and sunset.

The Lakes Bluegrass Festival is held approximately 10 miles away, just outside of Pine River. People from all over camp out at the festival to see bluegrass and country bands.

The Preserve at Grand View Lodge is regarded as one of Minnesota’s best-golfing locations. It features two scenic courses along with a spa, restaurant, and sporting courts.
