Lake George - Rochester

Lake George is a private, community lake located next to Highway 52 in Rochester, Minnesota. Minneapolis is approximately an hour and a half northwest of the lake.

Shopping centers, restaurants, hotels, and parks are within minutes of the lake. Mayo Clinic Hospital and Rochester International Airport are located in the city for easy convenience.

Lake Life

The beautiful Lake George is somewhere you will want to kick back at the end of the day. Its clean, blue waters invite residents to boat, fish or swim.

While on the shore, you may spot ducks paddling the water or songbirds nesting in the trees. Many residents enjoy kayaking to get a closer look at the wildlife.

Time Off the Water

If you enjoy spending time on the greens, Soldiers Field Golf Course, Rochester Golf & Country Club, and Eastwood Golf Course are nearby.

Rochester Art Center, Zollman Zoo, Mayowood Mansion, Cascade Lake Park, Spark Children’s Museum, and Foster-Arend Park are other great attractions in the city.

There are numerous attractions in Minneapolis, starting with the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Travel through 4,000 years of world history as you view more than 80,000 works of sculpture, photography, paintings, drawings, and prints.

The Mall of America offers great shopping and hosts over 40 million people annually. Nickelodeon Universe is an incredibly family-friendly amusement park in the mall and is split into two indoor amusement parks.

Another local favorite is the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. One of the crown jewels of the city’s park system, the garden is a top destination for tourists to enjoy art like the iconic Spoonbridge and Cherry.

Finally, for outdoor recreation and scenic nature, check out Minnehaha Park. This is the oldest park in Minneapolis and boasts 193 acres, numerous scenic trails, limestone bluffs, a 53-foot waterfall, picnic pavilions, bike rentals, and an off-leash dog park.
