Located in eastern Alexandria, Lake Geneva is part of Alexandria’s 11-lake chain. As one of the state’s most favorable destinations, the area fills with seasonal residents and tourists during the summer months.

Alexandria is a fantastic place to be; the city offers attractions, hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, and the Douglas County Hospital.

On Beautiful Waters

Lake Geneva offers 653 acres for pontooning, water skiing, kayaking, swimming, paddleboarding, and many other lake activities.

With holes as deep as 63 feet, the lake is home to a variety of fish. The majority of anglers chase after the largemouth bass and walleye, but they can also catch bluegill, black crappie, and northern pike.

Lake Geneva connects to five other lakes: Lake Homme Dieu, Lake Carlos, Lake Victoria, Lake Darling, and Lake Jessie. Take the channel under Geneva Road, and Lake Homme Dieu Beach will be on your left.

Fun on the Town

Viking Plaza Mall, Casey’s Amusement Park, Midway 9 Theater, Alexandria Escape Room, Carlos Creek Winery, or the Runestone Museum are fun outings in the city.

Alexandria’s Broadway’s Party in the Street celebrates summer with live music, shopping, a beer garden, and ice cream.

In late June, the city hosts the annual Awake the Lakes - Ribfest. This fun-filled event includes fireworks, live music, and of course, great food.
