Minnesota
The Elysian Lake real estate market is a beautiful, but less active, marketplace for lake property in Minnesota.
Normally there are very few lake homes for sale at Elysian Lake, and very few listings for lots and land.
Elysian Lake is one of the many smaller Minnesota lakes.
Elysian Lake is one of the best places to reside in the Mankato Area. You will have the advantages of a large recreational lake while the city is just 20 miles away.
As a college town, Mankato offers a wide variety of restaurants, retail stores, and hotels. It is just as fitting for a nature lover; the Minneopa State Park and several other recreation areas are around the town.
The Twin Cities Metropolitan Area is approximately 75 miles northeast of Mankato if you are looking for a big city's attractions. It also houses the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport and several large hospitals.
The waters of Elysian Lake stretch long and slim across 1,902 acres. It features many miles of forested shorelines with beautiful homes tucked in between.
Boating, fishing, swimming, and skiing are some of the lake's most popular activities. From the shore, you can take in the lake scene, picnic with a friend, or relax in a hammock.
Elysian City Beach is the perfect place to spend a day with the family. It also has a playground, volleyball court, ballfield, picnic court, and bathrooms.
Anglers can expect to catch various bass, northern pike, bluegill, perch, crappie, and walleye. An ice fishing tournament is held on the lake each year that offers cash prizes and freshly made stew.
On the north end of the lake, the Sakatah State Trail passes through the city of Elysian before it continues east past empty fields and lakes.
Tucker's Tavern and the Knotty Bar & Grill are Elysian's best dining spots. Some to the city just for a sweet treat from Scoops. Minneopa State Park is the region's most popular attraction. It is famous for Minneopa Falls, but it also offers tons of scenic hiking trails, a campground, and a large Bison sanctuary.
Bluff Park, Hiniker Park, Spring Lake Park, and the Kiwanis Biking Trails are also located in the city. Outside of West Mankato, the Rasmussen Woods feature meadows, wetlands, and an abundance of wildlife.
Mankato Marathon, River Ramble, Mankato Pow Wow, Ribfest, Gather in the GreenSeam, Kiwanis Holiday Lights, and the Riverfront Park outdoor concert series are held each year.
Elysian Lake is an excellent place for a weekend escape or full-time residence. Its variety of activities can keep each member of the family busy.
