On Glassy Waters

Elbow Lake is a key-shaped body of water that features islands, peninsulas, and inlets. Tall trees stand around the shore where you will see the occasional moose or grazing deer.

With so much to see, kayaking or canoeing on the lake will never get old. For more of a thrill, try speed boating, water skiing, jet skiing, or tubing.

As part of the Kabetogama State Forest, trails for hiking, biking, snowmobiling, or horseback riding are never far away. It is also one of the best places for birdwatching or observing other wildlife.

Beyond the Lake

Wakemup Bay is a busier lake atmosphere just a few minutes south of Elbow Lake. The Landing Bar & Grill on the lake is the perfect place to go for a fun night out.

The Virginia Golf Course features lush greens and a fantastic restaurant and bar.

Visit the city’s Ore-Be-Gone Lake for some of the most transparent waters in the area. Many people come to the lake for diving, but the lake beach is also famous.
