Short Drive to Monticello or Minneapolis

Eagle Lake is a beautiful, serene body of water less than 10 miles north of Monticello. The nearby city offers a Walmart, several restaurants, a healthcare center, schools, and more.

Minneapolis and Saint Paul are approximately 40 miles southeast of the lake, where there is the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, several hospitals, and many attractions.

A Stunning Lake

Eagle Lake offers 463 acres of water for boating, fishing, swimming, and any other lake activity. It has an average depth of 10 feet and four miles of shoreline.

Popular summer activities include powerboating, pontooning, jet skiing, and water skiing. People also enjoy kayaking and canoeing along the wooded shore. Anglers can fish the lake for walleye, northern pike, bluegill, largemouth bass, black crappie, and bullhead.

Golfing, Hiking, and Biking

Carefree Country Club is next to the lake, where there is a golf course, swimming pool, hot tub, pro shop, and clubhouse.

Residents can use the trails at Sand Dune State Park for hiking, horseback riding, offroading, and snowmobiling. Find a quiet spot around the forest for some of the area’s best birdwatching.

Bertram Chain of Lakes Regional Park is best known for its biking trails, but it is also an excellent destination for nature watching or picnicking.

Eagle Lake is a hidden oasis for boating, fishing, swimming, or relaxing. Downtown Minneapolis is less than an hour away if you wish to get in on shopping, dining, and nightlife activities.
