Big Swan Lake is a hidden retreat just 15 miles southwest of Annandale. In town, you will have the convenience of restaurants, shops, and other small-town facilities.

Minneapolis' bustling scene is just 50 miles east, along with the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, East Bank Hospital, and more.

Lake All Day

This undiscovered oasis sees few visitors, which means you will have 683 acres of pristine waters at your fingertips. Big Swan has an average depth of 32 feet and six miles of shoreline.

Boaters enjoy the immense stretch of water for cruising, speeding, and pulling water skiers. Others enjoy paddling the shoreline in kayaks and canoes.

Anglers can catch various fish, including black bullhead, northern pike, largemouth bass, bluegill, walleye, and crappie.

The Beautiful Outdoors

A nature-lover will fall in love with Big Swan Lake, where deer, squirrels, rabbits, beavers, herons, and more commonly visit.

Knapp State Wildlife Management Area borders the eastern side of the lake, so there is an abundance of land to explore.

When the leaves start changing in the fall, the area is breathtaking. Stick around for winter to join in on ice fishing, snowmobiling, or cross-country skiing.

More Activities

Just north of the lake, Miller Heritage Vineyard and Winery calls themselves "the fun winery." You can hop on a trolley and take a tour of the vineyard while you sip fine wine. They also host live bands and private events.

Walk the streets of Annandale to explore antique shops, gift shops, and boutiques. Go on to Minneapolis for the Mall of America for a choice of over 500 stores. The mall is also home to 10 other attractions, including Nickelodeon's indoor amusement park.
