The nearest commercial airport is Gerald R. Ford International Airport, located about an hour south of the area, with smaller local airports nearby. Hospitals in the area are small, but if medical help is needed, the closest hospital is Spectrum Health Big Rapids Hospital, about 15 minutes away.

Rainbow and brown trout, while not present in Lake Laura, can be found in the nearby Little Muskegon River.

For owners who want to water ski and tube, Canadian Lakes has a central “all sports lake” located in the center of the Canadian Lakes Chain, where residents can gain access through public boat ramps.

The area of Canadian Lakes also contains a campground — perfect for anyone who wants an outdoor adventure.

For more outdoor activities, visit Brower Park. Brower Park is only 25 minutes away from the development and holds 18 miles of navigable water, a small beach, playgrounds, picnic areas, and family-friendly events throughout the year.

The park also has a 47-mile trail called Michigan’s Dragon that is under construction and will connect to other trails in the state. The trail is primarily for hiking, cross-country running, and biking.
