Fife Lake is a 617-acre lake located in a township of the same name. Traverse City is 24 miles northwest, and Detroit is roughly 229 miles southeast.

The closest location for emergency care is the Cadillac Hospital, 26 miles southeast. The Cherry Capital Airport is 22 miles northwest of Traverse City.
