The closest international airport is Boston Logan International, 89 miles northwest in Boston, and for local air travel, the Barnstable Municipal Airport is 20 miles west in Hyannis, Massachusetts.

The nearest urgent care center is the Cape Cod Hospital, 20 miles west, also in Hyannis.

If you're more of a boater at heart, then don't fear! There are two marinas located on the Oyster Pond River. Chatham Yacht Basin and Oyster River Boatyard provide a space to not only moor your craft, but the Yacht Basin is a full-service marina as well!

On the days you don't want to get on the water, head to the Oyster Pond Beach instead! This kempt beach is perfect for soaking up some rays.

Things to Do Nearby

There are many attractions to see nearby, as Cape Cod is one of the oldest parts of the United States, with settlement beginning in the early 1600s!

Built in 1808, the Chatham Lighthouse is one of three original lighthouses in this coastal town. The Coast Guard conducts tours every Wednesday during the summer and every other Wednesday during the fall.

Chatham’s Godfrey Windmill is one of the few remaining wind-powered grist mills left on the Cape. Get a tour of this historic landmark, and on a couple of days of the year, watch it operate as it would have when it was built in 1796!

Visit Plymouth, Massachusetts

Plymouth, Massachusetts, is around 33 miles north of Mare Pond. This town makes for a fantastic day trip as it is packed with history!

Visit the Plymouth Rock Historic Landmark, a waterfront monument showcasing the storied rock where the Mayflower Pilgrims first landed in 1620.

Check out the Mayflower ll, a full-scale replica of a 17th-century Pilgrim ship with exhibits and tours led by costumed guides.

Another important spot in Plymouth is the Pilgrim Hall Museum, the oldest public museum in the U.S. Built in 1824, you can find archives of items from the early Pilgrims.
