There are two Watuppa Ponds: North and South. Combined, these two ponds have a surface area of over 3,000 acres. The North basin supplies drinking water to Fall River, so all water-based activities like swimming, boating, fishing, etc., are prohibited.
However, you can do all of these activities in the South basin! Residents and visitors enjoy boating, kayaking, and fishing here! There is a concrete launch ramp on the northwest shore of the pond.
Undoubtedly, the most popular activity is fishing. South Watuppa plays host to many bass tournaments because of its large populations of small and largemouth bass. There are also tiger muskies, chain pickerel, brown bullhead, black crappie, and sunfish.
