The waters of Swan Lake encompass 1,370 acres and reach depths of 87 feet.

Swan Lake is a coldwater fishery, most famous for its population of landlocked salmon. Smallmouth bass, lake trout, brook trout, white perch, and rainbow smelt also populate the lake.

Boating is a popular activity at Swan Lake. People boat the waters in pontoons, motorboats, kayaks, canoes, and more.

Swan Lake State Park’s beach is a popular hangout spot among lake visitors and residents. The park also has picnic tables, pavilions, a bathhouse, and walking trails.

For more enjoyment of the river, walk the city’s Harborwalk or put in a boat at the Belfast Public Landing.

Visit Good Karma Farm to spend the day with over a dozen alpacas along with lamas, sheep, turkeys, and their beloved barn cats.
