Bangor National Airport and other city facilities are just 20 miles northwest of the lake.

Recreational Lake of 3,132 Acres

The waters of Green Lake cover 3,132 acres and claim 27 miles of shoreline. The lake is 44 feet deep on average but can be as deep as 170 feet.

Green Lake’s crystal clear waters make it a popular location for all kinds of lake activities. Pontooning, water skiing, tubing, fishing, and swimming are just some of the daily summer activities. During winter, ice fishing, ice skating, and snowmobiling take over.

Salmon and trout dominate the fishing scene, but anglers also reel in a variety of other fish.

In the northwestern corner of the lake, Jenkins Beach is a great place to relax or launch your boat.

Bangor’s Hollywood Casino Hotel & Raceway is a fantastic place for a night out. Or, spend a day with the family browsing downtown shops or dining at one of the city’s tasty restaurants.

Acadia National Park, one of Maine’s most treasured locations, is just 30 miles from the lake. The 47,000-acre park features Cadillac Mountain, the pacific ocean, a large sandy beach, Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse, and an abundance of hiking trails.
