Moose River, also known as Moosehead Lake, is one of the largest U.S. lakes in Maine. The lake is also one of the largest mountain lakes in the eastern United States.

The lake is in the Longfellow Mountains in the Maine Highlands Region. Greenville, Maine, is to the south of the lake, and the northwest is Rockwood, Maine.

Spanning a whopping 75,451 acres and with a max depth of 246 feet, Moosehead Lake has tons of room for new residents to come and settle down. There are over 80 islands in the lake; the largest lake is Sugar Island.

The Bangor International Airport is the closest major airport, sitting 123 miles away. The closest medical center is the PCHC - Jackman Community Health Center, which is 2.5 miles away.
