On average, there are very few lake homes for sale in the Lower Range Pond, and very few lake lots and land parcels.
Lower Range Pond sits less than ten miles southwest of Lewiston-Auburn in the mountainous region of Maine.
Locals commonly refer to Lewiston and Auburn as “L/A” or the “Twin Cities”. In the cities, you will find the Central Maine Medical Center, Auburn-Lewiston Airport, a selection of schools, multiple restaurants, and more.
The Portland International Jetport and Northern Light Mercy Hospital are only 30 miles south of the lake.
Lower Range Pond spans 290 acres with a maximum depth of 41 feet and an average depth of 15 feet.
The lake’s southwestern portion is much shallower than the rest of the lake but it boasts the same clear waters. Largemouth bass populates the warm, weedy waters of “the shallows.”
Lower Range Pond is the northernmost body of water in the Range Pond lake chain. It is followed by Middle Range Pond of 382 acres and Upper Range Pond of 391 acres.
Lower Range Pond only allows boats of 10 horsepower or less. It is surprisingly home to several pontoons with 9.9HP engines.
The pristine waters are equally enjoyed by those with kayaks, canoes, windsurfing boards, and paddleboards.
Range Pond State Park partially borders the lake. It features an extensive lake beach along with a boat launch and hiking trails.
Poland Spring Golf Course and Resort also backs up to the shores of Lower Range Pond.
Known as “The San Francisco of the East,” Portland is a multi-cultural scene of restaurants, music venues, and museums.
Called the “Foodiest Small Town,” the city is nationally renowned for excellent restaurants, craft beverages, and award-winning chefs.
Some of the best restaurants include Bull Feeny’s, Dimillo's on the Water, Lobster Shack at 2 Lights, Pom’s Thai Restaurant, and Portland Lobster Company.
The Bach Virtuosi Festival, Bowdoin International Music Festival, Maine Outdoor Film Festival, and One Longfellow Square are just a few of its annual events.
Lower Range Pond’s recreational opportunities along with its proximity to Lewiston-Auburn and Portland make it an excellent choice of lake property.
