About Lobster Lake

Scenic Lake in the Northwoods of Maine

Lobster Lake lies in the Northwoods of Maine, just east of Moosehead Lake’s North Bay. It is in Northwest Piscataquis, under 130 miles from Bangor.

It is approximately 40 miles north of Greenville, a town on Moosehead Lake’s southern shore. It features several restaurants, markets, convenience stores, gift shops, lodges, and Northern Light CA Dean Hospital.

The Bangor International Airport is approximately 110 miles south of the lake.

A Picturesque Escape

Lobster Lake is a picturesque expanse of 3380 acres. With little to no shoreline establishments, there is nothing but Maine’s rich and untouched nature to take in.

The lake is four and a half miles long and one and a half miles wide, perfect for kayaking or canoeing adventures. If you ever get hot, it is a great place for a swim.

Anglers have a great time catching populations of salmon, brook trout, lake trout, white perch, yellow perch, hornpout, smelt, lake whitefish, white sucker, longnose sucker, common shiner, golden shiner, fallfish, cusk, and banded killifish.

Near Moosehead Lake

If you are ever looking for a more extensive lake adventure, Moosehead Lake's 75,000 acres of water are a short distance away.

It features 80 different islands with one of them being Mount Kineo State Park. Rock cliffs, some 800 feet above the water, are located on the lake's eastern shore.

Shaw Mountain Ski Area, located on the lake's western shore, is the best ski resort in the area. The facility offers a variety of trails for any skill level.
