Damariscotta Lake of Maine’s Midcoast Region is part of Lincoln County. The towns of Jefferson, Nobleboro, and Newcastle border the lake, where you have a choice of small-town conveniences.

Travel just 30 minutes to Augusta for riverside dining, shopping, and more. The Augusta State Airport and VA Maine Hospital are located here as well.

Glacial Lake of 4,381 Acres

Damariscotta’s waters, covering 4,381 acres, resulted from the last ice age 10,000 years ago. The glaciers left the lake with a unique shape, featuring 45 miles of shoreline.

The lake can be as deep as 114 feet deep and is 30 feet deep on average. A tour around the lakeshore might include sights of loons, osprey, Canadian geese, beavers, deer, moose, or a bald eagle.

Just 25 miles away, the Camden Snow Bowl has snowy slopes for skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. Goose River Golf Course, Camden Hills State Park, and Curtis Island are also in Camden.

The regions’ best beaches at Reid State Park or Popham Beach State Park are just an hour away.
