Activities off the water are also plentiful, such as disc golf, geocaching, hiking, miniature golfing, picnicking, and exploring the beautiful surrounding nature.
Louisville is approximately two and a half hours away from the lake and is a gold mine for interesting places to visit.
The top attraction here is the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory. Baseball lovers will appreciate the historical aspects of this museum as well as gain an appreciation for the production of baseball bats and mitts.
The Kentucky Kingdom is a family-friendly amusement park featuring a Ferris wheel and roller coasters. Hurricane Bay is the attached water park with waterslides and wave pools.
Museum-lovers should visit the Mohammed Ali Center, dedicated to the Louisville native, or the Kentucky Derby Museum, focused on the longest continuously-running sporting event in the country.
Adults of age should make time for tours and tastings at the Angel’s Envy Distillery or the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience.
