In the part of Iowa’s “Great Lakes,” Silver Lake is one of the largest and most beautiful water bodies in the state.

Lake Park is a neighboring town providing small-town establishments along with schools. A great selection of conveniences, including restaurants, hotels, and a family doctor’s office, are approximately 10 miles east.

Significant facilities like Sioux Falls Regional Airport or Sanford Hospital are approximately 80 miles west.

One of the State’s Largest Lakes

Silver Lake is a stunning body of water covering 1,041 acres of Dickinson County. The waters claim 10 miles of shoreline and reach depths of 11 feet.

Silver Lake is not connected to the other lakes of the Iowa Great Lakes chain but is still one of the state’s most desired lake locations. You will have excellent opportunities without all of the boating traffic.

With no boating restrictions, the waters of Silver Lake can host a wide range of lake activities. Pontooning, jet skiing, speedboating, water skiing, tubing, sailing, and wakeboarding are just a few.

Silver Lake is known for great catches of walleye, but fishers also reel in northern pike, crappie, yellow perch, and bullhead.

Campers can choose from South Lake Campground, Silver Lake City Park Campground, or Roxie’s Cove Campground that offers lakeside RV and tent lots.

Trappers Bay State Park and Silver Lake Country Club

Trapper’s Bay State Park offers a boat ramp, multiple fishing areas, and plenty of forests for hiking. Silver Lake Fen is a unique wetland area featuring orchids along with hundreds of other plants.

Silver Lake Country Club is the perfect place to go for a challenging round of golf. The course is host to tournaments along with events at the clubhouse.
