Cage Mills Lake is a 1,400-acre lake near Cataract, Indiana. It is the state's first flood control reservoir. Indianapolis is under 70 miles away.

The lake is 45 minutes from Union Hospital and 50 minutes from Indianapolis International Airport. It is also within 10 minutes from local grocers.

Fishing Opportunities

Anglers on Cagles Mill Lake can expect to fish largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, channel catfish, black crappie, white crappie, walleye, bluegill, muskie, and striped bass.

Outdoors Galore

Surrounding the lake are two outdoor recreation areas: Lieber State Recreation Area and Cataract Falls State Recreation Area. Together, they offer hiking trails, boat accesses, horseshoe pits, hunting, picnicking, and playgrounds.

Lieber State Recreation Area, in particular, provides a top-class aquatic center with a pool and waterslide.

Cataract Falls is part of Mills Creek, which feeds Cagles Mill Lake. It is one of many popular waterfalls around the lake.
