Bass Lake sits in the northwestern corner of Indiana in Starke County. It is 11.3 square miles in size and sits just over 50 miles from Lake Michigan's southernmost tip. The lake is relatively shallow, with an average depth of around six feet.
This lake is actively stocked and managed by the Indiana state government. Local biologists work to create the best fishery possible in Bass Lake.
Despite its name, the most popular catches on this lake are black and white crappie, walleye, and bluegill. Like most natural lakes, there are populations of bass here, but they have lower people than the fish mentioned above.
