To the East of Pistakee Lake

Wooster Lake is a lake in Lake County, Illinois. It is located near Illinois Route 134 and Wilson Road, predominantly in unincorporated Ingleside. It is a glacially-formed, private lake that is 99 acres in size.

This lake's unique feature is that it is the fourth deepest lake (on average) in Lake County, which has over 90 lakes on its borders.

Wooster Lake is also conveniently close to Pistakee Lake, one of fifteen lakes that make up the popular Chain O'Lakes system.

Lake Recreation

Like the Chain O' Lakes waterway system, anglers are sure to have a great time fishing this lake. With largemouth bass, northern pike, and green sunfish being some of the more popular catches. Of course, if you aren't lucky on Wooster Lake, you can always try fishing on any of the Chain O' Lakes.

Just north is the Grant Woods Forest Preserve, which totals 1,226 acres in size. It is the perfect place to spend the day biking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, picnicking, skiing, and more. Nature lovers with all levels of experience can enjoy the scenic walking trails with bridges across the marsh.
