Timber Lake is a human-made lake in DuPage County just 20 miles from Lake Michigan's sandy shores. This lake has a surface area of 32.4 acres with a shoreline length of 1.41 miles. This lake is relatively shallow with a maximum depth of 14 feet.

Timber Lake is also conveniently located about 45 miles from the windy city of Chicago, Illinois.

Spending Time on Timber Lake

Non-motorized boating, fishing, swimming, and sailing are permitted on Timber Lake. The Timber Lake Civic Association manages this activity. There is a beach on Timber Lake that is the perfect spot to tan, soak in some vitamin C, and take a relaxing dip in the water.

Anglers interested in testing their skills on Timber Lake will be happy to find largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish, and crappie living here. There is also a small park on the northern shore that is a great spot for fishers looking to leave the boat behind.

There is no need to choose between the country club life and lake-like here. There are at least four golf courses within a 10-mile radius of Timber Lake, including The Club at Wynstone, Biltmore Country Club, Hawthorn Country Club, and Kemper Lakes Golf Club.
