There are typically very few lake homes for sale on Druce Lake at any given time. The lake will usually have very few lake lots and land for sale.

Druce Lake is a smaller, tranquil lake located within the Village of Third Lake community. Also known as Chittenden Lake and Second Lake, this lake was named after Alexander Druce, who came from New York to purchase it in 1844.
Nearby is the larger Third Lake, which sits to the west of Druce Lake. Third Lake covers 157 acres and is available to residents of Druce Lake as well. Both lakes are naturally formed and are not open to the public.
Community residents are invited to swim, boat, canoe, kayak, and fish on both lakes within the Village of Third Lake.
Fishing on both lakes is excellent. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources fish survey shows that largemouth bass and bluegill are the most common species. Black crappie and northern pike are also caught. Once the lakes freeze over, residents can enjoy ice fishing as well.
A narrow channel connects Druce Lake to Third Lake, but residents can also access both lakes via the Village dock.
Just west of Druce Lake is Lake County’s largest forest preserve, Rollins Savanna Forest Preserve. The encompassing preserve 1,216 rolling acres of trails, woodlands, ponds, and wetlands.
The 5.5 miles of multi-use trails are a great place to hike, bike, run, ski, or bird-watch. In the winter, snowmobiles can even access the park.
Birding is a popular activity in Rollins Savanna Forest Preserve, as the wetlands provide excellent habitat for ruddy ducks, blue-winged teal, great blue herons, egrets, and different waterfowl species.
Near Druce Lake are local restaurants, coffee shops, golf courses, and shopping. It is easy to enjoy the tranquility of private Druce Lake, with the convenience of shops and stores nearby.
A lesser-known city in Illinois compared to its larger counterpart Chicago, Waukegan is a few miles drive from Druce Lake. Nearby is Six Flag of Great America, which is an amusement park with roller coasters, games, and fun events. You can also visit the beach along Lake Michigan at Illinois State Park.
