Near the Famous Chain O’Lakes Region

Deep Lake is a smaller, 226-acre lake just five miles to the east of the Chain O’Lakes region. It is located in Lake County, Illinois, and is considered to be a part of the Chicagoland tourist region. This lake is private and is regarded as one of the cleanest, clearest lakes because of this.

It is less than 50 miles north of the Chicago Loop, making it an excellent destination for people looking to leave the windy city.

Lake Recreation

Deep Lake is an all-sports lake. Residents and their visitors enjoy water skiing, pontooning, jet skis, tubing, wakeboarding, sailing, canoeing, and kayaking on the lake.

Fishing is also prevalent in Deep Lake. Deep Lake offers a good supply of largemouth bass and bluegill, northern pike, crappie, bullhead, perch, and carp.

Canoers and kayakers easily enjoy birdwatching on the northern end of the lake, where there is wooded preserve land. A surprising variety of birds, waterfowl, and mammals can be found living on Deep Lake.

Sun Lake Forest Preserve sits on the northern side of Deep Lake and offers over three miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing. It is a great spot to enjoy nature in your neighborhood.

Nearby Deep Lake is the much larger Chain O’Lakes waterway system. This highly-trafficked lake system has a host of restaurants and things to do on its shores. It is a great spot to catch a change of scenery and maybe a few fish.

Lake Villa provides a wide range of restaurants, shops, and entertainment for daily and evening activities. Several golf courses are within a five-mile radius.

The cities of Waukegan and Kenosha, Wisconsin, are within a 30-minute drive from Deep Lake, making it easy to spend the day shopping, eating, and touring these beautiful cities.
