Cave Lake is located near Medimont, Idaho in Kootenai County, and under an hour from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Kootenai County is named after a Native American tribe and is one of the largest counties in Idaho.

Emergency care can be found at Benewah Community Hospital about 30 minutes away. The closest airport is Spokane International and is just over an hour away in Washington.

The lake is ADA accessible and features include no motor restrictions, boat ramps, docks, restrooms. Anglers can expect to find bluegill, bullhead catfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, and white crappie.

Cave Lake’s surroundings have no shortage of fun things to do. Rent an ATV or go on a tour with Adventure Sports Rentals or visit Silverwood Theme Park. Play arcade games and laser tag at Virtual Reality CDA or hit the links at Hayden Lake Country Club. Kootenai County Fair Grounds also feature the state fair and a rodeo.

Explore Nature

Lovers of the outdoors should hike Fern and Shadow Falls, but be cautious with the wildlife found here. Old Mission State Park is also nearby and features the oldest standing building in Idaho, a cathedral built only with wooden dowels, plus a museum.
