Sitting at 4,750 acres large and with a shoreline of 135 miles, Jackson Lake is one of Georgia’s oldest man-made lakes. Jackson Lake occupies parts of Butts County, Jasper County, and Newton County in Georgia. It is 45 miles away from Atlanta.

Here you will find northern bass, crappie, channel catfish, hybrid striped bass, sunfish, and bluegill. There are both private fishing spots for property owners and spots open to the public.

If you want to get a boat out onto Jackson Lake, there are plenty of launch sites around the lake at the various marinas and boat ramps. Houseboats are not allowed; however, most other types of boats, including motorboats and jet skis, are welcome, just be careful around populated areas such as houses, docks, pontoons, and ramps.
