Lake Eloise

Polk County, Florida

Lake Eloise is in Winter Haven, Florida, and is under 60 miles from Tampa and Orlando. It is in the southern part of the Winter Haven Chain of Lakes.

Named after former President James K. Polk, this county has a population of around 725,000 people.

There are a few smaller airfields nearby, but the closest major airport is Tampa International and is 70 minutes away. Urgent care can be provided at Winter Haven Hospital, 15 minutes away.

Snacks and groceries can be found at the local ALDI, 13 minutes away. Locals recommend restaurants such as 1st Street Diner, B.D. Southern Home Cooking Cafe, and Tanners Lakeside and Bar.

Big Cat Rescue, which swelled to fame in the critically acclaimed Netflix documentary “Tiger King,” lies a short distance from Lake Eloise.

Have unique aquatic wildlife encounters at the Florida Aquarium, or if there are thrillseekers in your party head to Busch Gardens. Busch Gardens features rollercoasters, attractions, and over 12,000 live animals.
