Crystal Lake is a beautiful 220-acre lake located in the Waterside Pointe Community of Groveland, Florida.

The lake is in a convenient location, surrounded by major grocery stores and shops. The nearest hospital is Orlando Health South Lake Hospital, only five miles away, and the Orlando International Airport is forty miles away.

In the Community

The Waterside Clubhouse offers many amenities such as a private boat ramp, pool, fitness center, athletic courts, recreation field, playground, and a waterslide tower.

All homes in Waterside Pointe border the lake and some additionally front a canal with access to the Clermont Chain of Lakes, a group of 11 lakes that provide more fishing and boating opportunities.

The most popular species caught in the local lakes around Crystal Lake are largemouth bass, bowfin, and channel catfish.

Nearby Attractions

Clermont is only a five-minute drive from Crystal Lake. In downtown, you will find local breweries, live music, shops, trivia nights, group runs, wine nights, yoga on the patio, and a forty-vendor farmer’s market.

If you want to experience a pocket of the past, you can stroll through the historic village of downtown Clermont, which features homes, a library, and a museum. These buildings are all preserved from the 1800s and will make you truly feel as if you have traveled back in time.

You can also pick blueberries between March and May at the family-owned and operated Southern Hills Farms. On the weekends, Southern Hills Farms often offer hayrides, host food trucks, and open their market and covered playground, providing fun for the whole family!

Also spend time brushing up on your history at the President’s Hall of Fame, which began in 1960 as a wax museum of prominent American political figures. President Ronald Reagan called the museum a “true national treasure.”

If you’re a cat lover, you can grab a cup of coffee at the Orlando Cat Café in Clermont, which features a cat-play area and opportunities to adopt a cat! If you’re not a fan of cats, the café includes a separate dining area that is cat-free.

If you’re feeling a bit more active, you can play a round of Disc Golf at Lake Hiawatha Preserve’s 18-hole course. This course brilliantly combines fairways and Frisbees, offering a cool experience - quite literally, as the course is covered in shade-providing oak trees.

If you’re a nature lover, you can hike, kayak, canoe, ride horses, or bike at the beautiful Lake Louisa State Park. The area includes 4,500 acres of sparkling lakes, green hills, and gorgeous scenery.

Visit Orlando

If you’re looking for more of a metropolitan experience, you can visit the fun-filled city of Orlando. Crystal Lake is located only 27 miles from Orlando.

The city is most known for being the home to Walt Disney World, which consists of a handful of amusement parks such as Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom as well as two waterparks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.

However, Disney isn’t the only Orlando attraction. At Universal Studios, guests can grab a pint of butterbeer, fly on a broom or explore Hogwarts at the Harry Potter World. They can also face velociraptors and a giant T-Rex on the Jurassic Park boat ride and explore the Marvel Universe by riding the thrilling Incredible Hulk Coaster.

For a more water-based adventure, SeaWorld provides a unique experience with aquatic wildlife. SeaWorld is home to several over-water roller coasters, waterslides, and interactive aquariums.
