Also known as Coventry Lake or Lake Wangumbaug, this large body of water is conveniently located near Connecticut’s capital city. Spanning 373 acres, Wagumbaug Lake is naturally fed by fresh springs.

Wagumbaug Lake has historically been a Connecticut favorite. First settled in the early 1700’s Wagumbaug Lake’s first inhabitants fell in love with the lush landscapes, clear waters, and endless aquatic activities.

Wagumbaug Lake is known for its tranquil atmosphere and recreational opportunity. Visitors can enjoy swimming, sailing, water skiing, wind-surfing, fishing, and even ice skating in the winter.

For anyone who enjoys fishing, Wagumbaug Lake is home to walleye, brown trout, chain pickerel, black bullhead, brook trout, American eel, pumpkinseed sunfish, bluegill, yellow perch, smallmouth buffalo, lake trout and common carp. Wagumbaug is also a bass management lake.

Patriots Park is a beautiful area to host a family picnic after a day of fun on the lake. The park features well-kept amenities such as a guarded beach, lodge facilities, a boat ramp, and a community center.

CoventryFest, Strong-Porter Museum, and the University of Connecticut

Every year, Patriots Park hosts the annual CoventryFest for visitors and residents to enjoy. The event offers a beautiful fireworks display, delicious food, and live music for everyone to enjoy.

The Strong-Porter Museum is a must-stop for those who enjoy history. This beloved home is featured on the National Register of Historic Places and still houses the Coventry Historical Society. Visitors are invited to travel back in time and explore the rooms of this historic home.
