Lake Cherokee

Lake Cherokee is a 37-acre lake that is one of seven in the Cherokee Village area in Arkansas. It is exclusively accessed by owners and their guests.

The lake is 30 minutes from Fulton County Hospital and two and a half hours from Memphis International Airport.

On and Around the Water

Anglers looking to toss out a line on Lake Cherokee can expect to catch smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, and rainbow trout. Other fishing areas include Lake Thunderbird, Lake Sequoyah, and the South Fork Spring River.

Papoosa Park, on the north side of the lake, includes a playground and a beautiful scenic waterfall.

The Tohi Nature Trail is a quiet and well-maintained half-mile trail with resting areas 10 minutes from the lake. Dogs are allowed here, so the area is a favorite of canine lovers.

Golfers may enjoy a round at the Cherokee Village North Course, which is reported to be in great condition and consists of 18 holes bordered by the South Fork River.

Hungry Lake Cherokee residents have a short way to Carol’s Lakeview Restaurant, a highly rated diner serving home-cooked American food.

If you want to take the edge off with a beverage, try the Copper Feather Bar, a well-rated bar and restaurant with affordable drinks on the South Fork Spring River, right across the street from Lake Cherokee.
