About 30 miles east of Birmingham, Alabama, on the Coosa River, in east-central Alabama, is where you'll find Logan Martin Lake. Alabama Power Company constructed this reservoir on the Coosa River, which covers 17,000 acres, in 1965. Locals call Logan Martin Lake, which is 48.5 miles long and has 275 miles of shoreline, "Lake of a Thousand Coves." Logan Martin Dam is on the lake's south side, and Neely Henry Dam is on the north. The lake ranges in depth from 35 to 110 feet, with a five-foot average difference in water level. Lake Logan Martin is great for swimming, boating, skiing, and some of the best bass fishing in the country.
