Turtle Flambeau Flowage

Located in Forest, Langlade Counties, Wisconsin

Turtle Flambeau Flowage is the seventh-largest lake in Wisconsin. At 12,942 acres, this jewel of northern Wisconsin has thousands of lake homes surrounding its shores and is three hours and 30 minutes west of Green Bay and four hours east of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Fishing and Boating

This massive lake has five public boat landings and beautifully clear water, making it perfect for all of your favorite lake activities like water skiing, wakeboarding, and fishing. A variety of fish can be found:

- Walleye

- Sturgeon

Be sure to observe the boating and fishing ordinances found on the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources website. Most water sports and activities are allowed with some regulations on no-wake hours, water-skiing regulations, etc.

Local Attractions

For lodging right on the lake, check out The Birches Resort, which encompasses 250 acres of forest, and Donner’s Bay Resort which offers a restaurant, dock, and bait shop for campers and guests. Dead Horse Lodge on the north end of the lake offers “rugged luxury in the heart of the Northwoods,” and guests say the pizza is phenomenal.

The nearest restaurants offer some of the best American food in Wisconsin. The SK Frontier Inn offers the perfect rest after a day of snowmobiling, fishing, or hiking with its incredible fish fry and rustic atmosphere.

The fun doesn’t end at the lake! Northern Wisconsin hosts thousands of miles of hiking trails, snowmobiling paths, and national parks. You can also check out the Zipline Northwoods Adventure Tours and Wildwood Wildlife Park, Zoo, and Safari for family-oriented fun.

Airports and Hospitals

Pewaukee Lake is conveniently located near Park Falls Municipal Airport (30 minutes from the lake) for private flights and John F. Kennedy Airport in Ashland (1 hour and 31 minutes) for commercial flights.

The nearest hospital to help you with all of your medical needs is Marshall Medical Center in Park Falls, a 30-minute drive from the lake.
