Tepee Lake

Located in Vilas County

Tepee Lake is 62 acres with a maximum depth of 23 feet. There is so much to do and see in Vilas County, but there is even more to experience in the town of Eagle River, only 15 minutes from Tepee Lake.

Lake Life

Tepee Lake is a great place to spend the days boating, swimming, tubing, and skiing. The lake follows the state ordinances but has a few rules, specifically for Tepee Lake. Skiing or towing any person behind a boat is not allowed between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 a.m. There is a no wake speed ordinance between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 a.m.

Fishing is popular in Tepee Lake. Common fish are bass, northern pike, walleye, and panfish.

What To Do

The fun doesn’t stop when you leave the lake. Northwoods Children's Museum is 10 minutes from Tepee Lake and has endless fun for the kids. The immersive experience allows kids to take a step into their dream jobs. Like being a vet, a firefighter, or even a grocery store clerk. The museum is super kid friendly and safe, so the parents can take a breath while their kids tire themselves out.

After hours of playing, both the kids and you are destined to be hungry. The many restaurants around Tepee Lake can help with that. Kickback Grill is a popular choice amongst Tepee Lake residents. The fully open restaurant helps customers enjoy the beautiful scenery while they dine on amazing food.

Staying with the theme of outdoor restaurants, Albatross Grill is placed directly on Eagle River Golf Course. The beautiful course makes for the perfect background to look at while enjoying a quick and delicious meal.

Aspirus Eagle River Hospital is 10 minutes from Tepee Lake and is open 24 hours a day. Rhinelander-Oneida County Airport is 45 minutes from Tepee Lake and offers local flights.
