Shamrock Lake - Hawkins

Located in Rusk County, Wisconsin

Shamrock Lake is 58 acres with a maximum depth of eight feet. While there are lots of things to do in the town of Hawkins, you can take an hour and 30-minute drive over to Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where the fun sights just never end.

Lake Life

Shamrock Lake allows a variety of recreational activities, including boating, swimming, tubing, and skiing. Diving and snorkeling are also allowed on Shamrock Lake, so if you want to explore what's below the water's surface, it would be a great place to see all the fish.

Fishing is very popular for residents of Shamrock Lake. Common Fish include panfish, largemouth bass, and northern pike. Bass are allowed on a catch-and-release basis year-round.

There is a no-wake rule within 100 feet of shorelines, vessels, and swimmers.

Camping is a great way to bond with the family while exploring what all the Wisconsin wilderness has to offer. Good thing camping is only a 30-minute drive from Shamrock Lake. Big Falls County Park and Campground offers plenty of space for both tents and RVs. Fire pits, grills, and picnic tables make the camping experience that much better.

If you're looking for something to keep the kids entertained, take a drive over to Eau Claire. While the drive may seem far, the Children’s Museum of Eau Claire makes it worth every mile. Immersive rooms of real-world jobs and scenarios keep kids learning while you sit back and relax.
