About NW Wisconsin Area

About NW Wisconsin Area - WI

The Northwest Wisconsin Area consists of numerous unique and beautiful lakes. The largest growing locations in this area are Hudson and Eau Claire.

One of Wisconsin's most gorgeous and pristine lakes is Lake Owen. The lake's deep, clear waters are perfect for boaters and anglers, and the rich forestland surrounding the coastline offers many options for spectacular lakefront living, lovely pathways, and outdoor entertainment. Other lakes that stand out in this area include Chippewa Flowage, Spider Lake, and Lake Namekagon.

History

Several Native American tribes were the first people to live in the region that is now Wisconsin. Until the late 1800s, the Ho-Chunk (Winnebago), Menominee, Oneida, Potawatomi, and Chippewa tribes inhabited the region. Jean Nicolet was the first European traveler to discover Wisconsin. He landed in the area in 1634, searching for the Northwest Passage to China. In 1672, France declared Wisconsin to be a part of its realm in the New World.

Individuals who traveled here started buying up some of the nicest lakefront properties available to create their own private sanctuaries because of the abundance of high-quality lakes, plentiful fishing, and numerous undeveloped lakeshores. And a lot of these homes are still there, stuck in time.

What You Can Expect

With some of the largest water bodies in Wisconsin, this area has a prime real estate location for lake lovers alike. The majestic lake homes and breathtaking log buildings that line the shores of this area serve as a tribute to the worth of the best lakeshore lots in the area. NW Wisconsin areas never lack things to do, whether you are drawn by the fantastic fishing, exciting snowmobiling, resort-like ambiance, or simply the beautiful scenic small-town attraction.
