Angle Lake

Located in Southern Seattle

Angle Lake is a modest, L-shaped, 102-acre lake located on the southern side of the Seattle metropolitan area.

Between State Route 99 and Interstate 5, Angle Lake is less than a mile from the Seattle Tacoma International Airport. It’s also 15 minutes from St. Anne Hospital and close to the Angle Lake Rail Station which is part of the Sound Transit system serving the Seattle metropolitan area.

Angle Lake is also very close to public schools such as Chinook Middle School, Tyee High School, and various elementary schools. It is also less than 30 minutes from the University of Washington.

Because southside Seattle is known for its international cuisine, there are numerous options to choose from when dining out.

Recreation and Fishing

Angle Lake is home to the Angle Lake Park which includes a swimming area, fishing pier, picnic areas, and a public boat launch. Aside from the park, the lake is surrounded by private lakefront property.

The lake is stocked with rainbow trout by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, but also holds other fish such as kokanee, largemouth bass, crappie catfish, and yellow perch. It’s open to fishing year-round.

Serious anglers can drive around five miles from the lake to the Puget Sound, a large saltwater system of estuaries that are part of the Salish Sea. The sound is home to salmon, herring, and cod.
