Life on the Water

Lake Lucy is 87 acres in size with a maximum depth of 20 feet. The lake contains 2.3 miles of shoreline, offering plenty of space for lake fun.

The lake is great for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, and taking in the beautiful views. There are no public access points, but residents can carry in small watercraft via the channel that connects the lake to Lake Ann.

Anglers can find black bullhead, black crappie, bluegill, brown bullhead, green sunfish, hybrid sunfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, pumpkinseed, yellow bullhead, yellow perch, common carp, white sucker, golden shiner, and spottail shiner.

Around the Area

There is no shortage of fun to be had in and around Lake Lucy! First, take a stroll through the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. This natural area offers 1,137 acres of scenic display gardens, trees, nature trails, and sculptures.

Next, visit Paisley Park, which is just down the road from Lake Lucy. This museum is housed in the musician Prince’s private estate and production complex, featuring artifacts from his life and guided tours.

Visit Minneapolis

There are numerous attractions in Minneapolis, starting with the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Travel through 4,000 years of world history as you view more than 80,000 works of sculpture, photography, paintings, drawings, and prints.

The Mall of America offers great shopping and hosts over 40 million people annually. Nickelodeon Universe is an incredibly family-friendly amusement park in the mall and is split into two indoor amusement parks.

Another local favorite is the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. One of the crown jewels of the city’s park system, the garden is a top destination for tourists to enjoy art like the iconic Spoonbridge and Cherry.

Finally, for outdoor recreation and scenic nature, check out Minnehaha Park. This is the oldest park in Minneapolis and boasts 193 acres, numerous scenic trails, limestone bluffs, a 53-foot waterfall, picnic pavilions, bike rentals, and an off-leash dog park.
