Spring, Fall, and Winter are perfect times to fish on Lake Oliver. Anglers can catch sunfish, bream, bluegill, channel catfish, crappie, and several types of bass in Lake Oliver. Lake Oliver Marina has an on-site bait shop that sells live bait.
Summer is the ideal time for watersports like water skiing, tubing, and wakeboarding on Lake Oliver. The only boats not allowed on Lake Oliver are houseboats, so everything else is fair game. Lake Oliver Marina provides ramps to launch your boats and is the only public access point for Lake Oliver.
Around Town
The city of Columbus has many different tourist attractions, including the National Infantry Museum, Coca-Cola Space Science Center, and the WestRock Observatory. Locals love to eat at the Black Cow, Minnie’s Uptown Restaurant, and Zombie Pig BBQ.
People also love the Chattahoochee Riverwalk, a five-mile linear park that runs from Lake Oliver to the Infantry Museum. The trail offers a one-of-a-kind geotour including 31 challenge geocaches with collector game pieces.
A short drive will bring you to Montgomery, Alabama. This historic city is home to many attractions like the Montgomery Zoo and Mann Wildlife Center, the Rosa Parks Museum, and the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts.
