A 2,399-Acre Lake

In 1954 Palo Pinto lake was constructed to provide water to Mineral Wells, Texas, and give the Brazos Electric Plant access to cooling water.

The lake covers 2,399 acres and reaches its deepest point at 47 feet.

A Fisherman’s Lake

Lake Palo Pinto has many boat docks and three easy-access boat ramps to accommodate their boaters.

Fishermen can choose from the North Ramp, Love Ramp, or the FM 2692 Ramp; all open year-round and are free to use.

This lake is a great source of largemouth bass, white bass, hybrid striped bass, channel catfish, flathead catfish, and white crappie.

The rocky points around the shoreline and the numerous boat docks, best when lighted at night, are the most promising places to fish around the lake.
