Lake Quitman has a surface area of 814 acres and has a max depth of 25 feet.

The lake was impounded in 1962 when the Wood County No. 1 Dam was completed on Dry Creek in the Sabine River Basin.

This lake, with three boat ramps and a privately owned marina, is a great host for fishers. The nearby marina sells anything a fisher might need: bait, gas, and food. Largemouth Bass are a hit at Lake Quitman, but it is also a source of crappie, bluegill, and sunfish.
