Endless Opportunities

At 4,213 acres and a maximum depth of 66 feet, Lake Fort Phantom Hill is vast, making it incredibly difficult to run out of things to do on it, or places to explore.

When the lake is full, there are four boat ramps available, and an extra two ramps are added when water is low. All the ramps have parking available and depending on the area, some have restrooms, picnic areas, and campsites.

Anglers can expect to find largemouth bass, white bass, hybrid striped bass, blue catfish, flathead catfish, white crappie, and freshwater drum.

Adjacent to the south side of the lake is Seabee Park, where there are five acres of wetlands along with a large pavilion, picnic spots, hiking trails, and a lighted parking area.

Johnson Park sits on the north side of the lake where there are hiking trails, a kayaking trail, a volleyball court, picnic sites, and a playground.

Entertainment Options

There are many featured attractions in the nearby city of Abilene, Texas.

The top attraction is Frontier Texas! Museum, an interactive museum and visitor center in the downtown area. Visitors can relive the Old West and learn more about life on the Texas Frontier.

The Abilene Zoo is also nearby, featuring more animals than anywhere else in West Texas. Beyond touring the various animals, families can feed giraffes, ride a train or carousel, take a trip in a swan boat on the lake, or experience a wind tunnel.

Historic Fort Phantom Hill is one of the most pristine historic sites in the state, with remains for visitors to explore, inspect, and study. Other museums include the 12th Armored Division Memorial Museum and Grace Museum.
