Lake Brownwood is a 6,490-acre lake in Central Texas, near the city of Brownwood. The Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Area is around three hours, perfect for a day trip.
The lake is only 20 minutes away from Gwinnett Medical Center and a little less than three hours from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
Spanning 6,490 acres with a maximum depth of 95 feet, there's plenty of space on Lake Brownwood for everyone. You can boat, waterski, Jet Ski, and swim in the lake during most months of the year due to the great weather.
The predominant fish in Lake Brownwood are largemouth bass, white bass, white crappie, channel, and flathead catfish.
Near the lake is Lake Brownwood Park. The park was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps on the shore of the lake and offers nearly six miles of trails and geocaching activities. It also includes campsites and cabins as well as 10 screened shelters.
The Flat Rock Campground is on the south side of the lake and offers RV spots, tent camping, boat slips, a boat ramp, picnic areas with grills, a swimming area, and a fishing pier.
The Lake Brownwood Christian Retreat, located on the east side of the lake, is a Christian retreat for children and groups with various activities and amenities such as walking trails, a prayer garden, outdoor worship area, a campfire circle, and a sports complex.

The Pecan Bayou Paddling Trail is a 7.2 miles looped waterway trail through the Pecan Bayou, a slow-moving water outlet in the Brownwood area.
